Brabners Quarterly Economic Briefing

(see map)

Rushi Sunak is the most popular member of the UK Governments Cabinet. 8.7 million have signed up for the furlough scheme. 1.5 million are officially unemployed. The Chancellor is paying the wages of 10 million workers, as lock down continues.

The cost of the furlough scheme is greater than the cost of the NHS. The scheme will have to be curtailed later this year.

What will the impact be on jobs as the scheme is cut back? How will this shape economic recovery, following the dramatic shock to output in the second quarter?

Join us online for our next Brabners Quarterly Economic Briefing. Dr John Ashcroft, author of The Saturday Economist, will be looking at growth and recovery and what the impact will be on jobs in UK and the North West.
