Spaces at The Spine announces second record-breaking year

One of Liverpool’s world-class conference and events venues has reported record-breaking revenue and visitor numbers for the second year in a row.

Spaces at The Spine, located in the Knowledge Quarter, has reported a new record after experiencing a 21% increase in revenue compared to 2023. The venue also experienced an impressive 31% growth in the number of events hosted in 2024, resulting in more than 29,500 delegates walking through its doors.

A continued commitment to sustainability and wellbeing

Since opening in 2021, Spaces at The Spine has provided dynamic areas for conferences, workshops and dining, putting sustainability and wellbeing at the core of its offer and leading the way as one of the most forward-thinking venues in Liverpool.

In 2024, the venue confirmed its commitment to providing sleek event services that are not only kinder to the planet but also actively improve the mental and physical wellbeing of visitors, by becoming WELL Certified at the Platinum level and achieving ECOsmart Gold status.

An award-winning venue

Adding three more award wins to its impressive collection and making the shortlist for three more in 2024, the venue also won Business Events Venue of the Year at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards, highlighting its commitment to delivering outstanding service while recognising the venue’s dedication to innovation and sustainability.

The Base café

Spaces at The Spine’s adjoining wellness cafe, The Base has also announced a 50.2% increase in sales compared to 2023. This success comes after making several innovative developments to its core offer, such as expanding menus to include themed and seasonal dishes throughout the year, introducing interactive game nights and offering eco-conscious initiatives, including providing used coffee grounds for composting to the community and launching on Too Good To Go to reduce food waste.

Looking to 2025

Looking to the year ahead, Spaces at The Spine is set to expand its offer to provide the region with even more modern and flexible spaces for events, gatherings and more, starting by developing the use of its medical simulation suites. Located on the eleventh floor of The Spine building, this transformative space can be used for training, examinations, interviews, as well as filming productions requiring a medical-themed setting.

Natacha Allen, Head of Commercial Events at Spaces at The Spine, said:

“Achieving this level of success two years in a row is a significant milestone in our journey and reaffirms our commitment to delivering a unique one-of-a-kind service. The team have worked incredibly hard, and we’re excited to build on this momentum to reach even greater heights in the future.”
