We combine our knowledge of the region’s key sectors with the changing world of work to help develop skills, support apprenticeships, make sure our schools and universities equip students with the skills our businesses need.

We improve careers provision by integrating careers into the curriculum, making sure that students are work ready, with a good awareness skills needed for a rewarding career

We also contribute to the region’s Skills for Growth plans, we look ahead to the impact of artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics and autonomous systems on every sector of our economy.

The skills and talent we need are exciting and varied, from digital and technology skills for innovation and prosperity; pioneering future technologies for our health sector; professional and business services skills that will allow the rest of the region to grow; low carbon and clean energy technology and the skills to support our construction sector and regional infrastructure.

The potential for the region is huge, and it’s our job to help harness those opportunities.

Careers Hub/Enterprise Adviser Network

The Careers Hub joins the dots between education and business in the region, supporting schools in developing an effective careers plan that addresses the Gatsby Good Career Guidance Benchmarks

The Careers Hub can:

  • help businesses work with schools to improve workplace skills
  • raise awareness of businesses in Liverpool City Region in secondary schools and colleges
  • provide high quality resources to improve careers provision
  • support careers leaders in schools and colleges

We currently have 114 schools engaged with over 90 Enterprise Advisers, representing a range of sectors. We operate in partnership with five organisations, including All About STEM, Career Connect, Wirral Chamber, St Helens Chamber and Elevate EBP, each delivering an enterprise coordinator role.

The Careers Hub is part of the Government’s Careers Strategy, implemented nationally to support secondary schools and colleges in implementing a ‘world class’ standard of careers guidance.
