Busy October for LJLA as record breaking summer season comes to an end

Latest passenger figures for Liverpool John Lennon Airport show that this was the airport’s busiest October, continuing a monthly trend that has been seen throughout this year’s summer season that came to an end as airline schedules now switch to their Winter programmes.

Over 527,000 passengers used the Airport in October – up 13% on the same period last year and the first time over 500,000 passengers had been handled in the month of October.

63 destinations were served during the month with the top 5 most popular routes being Dublin, Alicante, Malaga, Majorca and Belfast, whilst the most popular international city breaks were to Barcelona, Amsterdam and Krakow

As the summer season drew to a close for the Airport, this summer between April to October a record 3.8m passengers from across the North West and North Wales have used the airport – an increase of 10% compared to Summer 2024, as more and more passengers continued to make Liverpool their airport of choice.

Paul Winfield, LJLA’s Aviation Director commented, “This has been a great summer season for the airport, with growing passenger numbers regularly breaking previous monthly records. Maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction has been just as important, with all the developments to improve facilities in the Departure Lounge and the new security equipment all helping to continue to give the growing numbers of passengers the faster, easier, friendlier experience that we have become renowned for.”
