Leading housing developer, Torus, will redevelop the site of the former Rock Ferry High School after their application for planning was approved by Wirral Council.
With plans in place to build a 102 apartment extra care scheme and 84 houses, for shared ownership and affordable rent, Torus will partner with the Anwyl Group and Pozzoni Architecture to regenerate the brownfield site and restore the Grade 2 listed building.
Due to start on site in March 2020, this scheme will work to regenerate the area and provide much needed affordable housing options to first time buyers, downsizers and people with extra care needs.
Chris Bowen, Managing Director of Torus Developments, said: “As an organisation, we passionately believe in the power of place and creating homes people can enjoy for many years.
“We are delighted to be able to invest £30 million into Rock Ferry. This level of investment is transformative for neighbourhoods as well as giving a strong boost to the Wirral economy.”
