The LCR Freeport and The Institute of Export & International Trade are looking to onboard 20 students for a pilot program to obtain a Level 2 Certificate in International Trade and Customs Practice.

The course will introduce students to fundamental customs practices and procedures, delivered through in-person and online training. Upon completing the training, students will join the LCR Freeport talent pool and have opportunities for career pathways into businesses within the Freeport.

This course is fully funded by Local Skills Improvement Funding.

Modules

The course will be delivered in 7 Modules and participants will have access to a tutor, IOE&IT student services, and online resources.

  • Module 1 – Introduction to Trade and Customs
  • Module 2 – Customs Processes and Procedures
  • Module 3 – Calculating Import Duty
  • Module 4 – Logistics and Transport
  • Module 5 – Export and Import Controls
  • Module 6 – Other Trade Topics
  • Module 7 – Customs Declarations

Requirements

  • A grade C/4 or above in English and MathsGCSE is required .
  • Provide a CV and Cover letter.
  • Complete a successful interview process.
  • Student Commitment: Learners should expect to study for a total of 40 hours to complete all the modules. The period of study is between 4-6 months.
