MHA and Gas Tag win best digital transformation award

Manningham Housing Association and Gas Tag have won the Best Digital Transformation award at the 2019 Northern Housing Awards.

The accolade for Manningham Housing Association comes after a fundamental review of their gas safety compliance processes to make them as efficient and effective as possible. The review identified the need to invest in a new digital platform and to move away from an extremely time and cost intensive manual system. Having considered all other options Manningham decided to use Gas Tag as a platform to effectively manage their overall gas compliance and put their tenant’s safety first.

Lee Bloomfield, Chief Executive of Manningham Housing Association said:

“I’m delighted for our whole organisation. This award is a testament to the hard work we’ve put into improving our processes over the past couple of years. Like many other smaller housing providers our resources are limited, which means to fully and effectively meet our obligations, such as gas compliance, we need to be innovative in our approach.

“Gas Tag has been key to improving quality, meeting and exceeding the expectations of the regulator and more importantly of our residents. Hopefully our story will give other providers in a similar position confidence that there are complementary solutions in the market, which can improve compliance and ultimately safety.”

Gas Tag is no stranger to winning, claiming multiple awards since its inception, including the Lloyds Bank National Business Award for New Business of the Year 2018. The award with Manningham is particularly special for Gas Tag because it also highlights the positive impact of their technology on a housing provider.

Peter Luke, Commercial Director of Gas Tag said:

“As part of the implementation of Gas Tag, we worked with Manningham to understand their current business practices around gas compliance. We then implemented a business process re-engineering approach which determined that adopting Gas Tag, could automate out cost from the process but also increase compliance. The seamless adoption of the application by the existing contractor shows strong teamwork. I’m glad these benefits were recognised by the judges for these awards.”

After the trophy was awarded, judge and former housing Chief Executive Alun Hughes said:

“Gas Tag is a really exciting new product which takes all of the hard work out of maintenance of gas compliance and keeps updated information on a real-time basis. It’s good for tenants, it’s good for the association and it’s good value for money.”
