Breaking New Ground on Affordable Wirral Housing Scheme

Leading North West property developer, Torus, breaks ground on new Wirral development in a continuing effort to increase access to affordable housing options in the Borough.

Developing on the former site of Lyndale School, the Lyndale Avenue development will see Torus work in partnership with experienced contractor, the Cruden Group, to rejuvenate the area and build affordable new homes.

Over £5m will be invested into the project which will see 28 mixed-tenure properties erected on site including social rent and shared ownership.

This is just one of the exciting projects Torus is developing in Wirral and joins the developer’s growing portfolio which also features schemes in Heswall, Pensby, Bromborough and New Ferry with a planning application also submitted for a £30m scheme in Rock Ferry.

Combined, all developments will see over £50m invested into building contemporary homes across Wirral and add over 300 mixed-tenure properties to the Borough to provide real affordable housing options for local people.

Chris Bowen, Managing Director of Torus Developments, said: “Lyndale has been at the heart of Eastham’s community for years and we are working to honour that legacy by creating high-quality, affordable homes for people in the area.

“As a group, we have committed to building 5,300 new homes in the North West over the next five years and this project is another step on our journey to providing modern homes which will serve the people who live and work in Eastham, and the Wirral, for many years to come.”
