Twenty-six exceptional students at Cronton Sixth Form have enjoyed a wonderful start to their time at College after each being presented with a prestigious scholarship award of up to £2000 to help them fulfil their potential and support them with their studies.
The talented students impressed during a series of interviews which took place earlier in the year and were ultimately selected for scholarships in one of the College’s three Centre of Excellence subject areas; STEM, Performing Arts and Sport.
The 2021 scholarship students are:

Sport Scholar Grace Johnson commented, “I was really happy and excited when I found out I was awarded the Scholarship. I plan to use the money to buy new football boots and equipment to help me with my course.”
STEM Scholar Bobby Lowrie said, “I was excited and proud to represent my former school and the College as a scholar.
This money will help pay for a new laptop and will help with my studies.”
Performing Arts Scholar Amelia Stuart added, “I was over the moon when I found out that I has been awarded a scholarship. I am going to use the money towards an Eb trumpet, which I will need to enhance my playing skills in preparation for advancing to conservatoire.”
Ben Barton, Deputy Head at Cronton Sixth Form commented, “A big congratulations to the scholarship student class of 2021, these are all very well deserved. The scholarships will support these outstanding students and provide financial assistance towards fulfilling their full potential in their chosen fields.
“The students have impressed during their first term at Cronton, they have excelled in their studies and have been fully involved in all aspects of College life, including participating in the Student Leadership Programme and representing the College in sports teams, at Open Evenings, and in the upcoming Centre of Excellence production of Sunset Boulevard at the Cronton Playhouse theatre.
“We are now looking forward to meeting next year’s potential scholars at their college interviews over the next few months.”
Potential scholars are identified during their college interview after applying. They will then take part in an application process which includes an extra interview to identify gifted and talented students.
