Founded over ten years ago, Apollo Care is a home care provider owned and run by a qualified community nurse. They provide a tailored care service enabling users to retain independence and remain living in their own homes for as long as possible.
The company have care offices across the North West including Wirral, Liverpool and Southport, and provide services that include dementia and Alzheimer’s care, disability care, respite and night care.
Apollo recently took part in Growth Platform’s Peer Networks programme – aimed at SME leaders who want to stabilise, grow and develop their organisation with the support of other entrepreneurs from across Liverpool City Region’s business community. Through interactive learning, the course enables employers to discuss challenges, gain feedback and find practical solutions to a whole host of business questions.
Through this programme Apollo Care’s Operations Manager, Dawn Belmar was supported by Jo Copoc-Jones the facilitator of the Peer Networks for Pink Link – the delivery partner.
Dawn explained: “I think the main plus I took from the programme was the help it gave me in realising the value of my place with Apollo. The one-to-one mentoring provided practical help – to develop my new job description and role, and the group sessions with other business leaders allowed me to understand what skills and knowledge I already had. Being able to contribute to this group really increased my confidence.
“I now feel more assured in my role and confident to lead on things such as training and new franchises. The extra support I can now give to my CEO has enabled her to concentrate on building and expanding the business.
“I believe Peer Networks has given me the focus to develop my own personal progress and I’m delighted to be starting a new role as Chief Operating Officer in January 2022. This experience has benefited me so much. Getting to know others in a similar position and their businesses has been amazing and there has been some valuable advice shared.”
