Painting and Decorating students from Riverside College have teamed up with Brewers Decorators to redecorate Halton Women’s Centre, helping to create a new warm, relaxing, welcoming atmosphere to the Centre.
As part of their course, the students regularly carry out valuable work experience in the community and worked hard in teams to redecorate each area of the centre with paint kindly donated by Brewers and materials donated by Adam Pollard from Hamilton Decorating Tools.
John Rowlands, Painting and Decorating tutor said, “The project has been a huge success, we have raised our own standards as a department and the project has helped deliver a real-life experience for all of the students. They have gained an understanding of the services involved at the Centre and have been a credit to themselves and the College throughout this project. “
Laurence Zing, Process Support Manager for Brewers said, “Riverside College trains students to a high standard which aligns with our core values; helping our customers get the best results. We’re very happy to be involved in a project that not only provides invaluable practical experience to the students but also supports the local community. My colleagues Steven Traynor, Area Development Manager and James Lavery, Branch Manager have worked extremely hard to fulfil my pledge and create a fantastic collaboration with Riverside College and Halton Women’s Centre”.
