Liverpool’s leading BAME housing associations team up to get tenants employed

Pine Court Housing Association and Steve Biko Housing Association are joining forces in 2022 with empowering employability sessions, thanks to funding from the European Union’s Social Fund.

The project, named New Horizons, is the first of its kind in the area and will launch in March this year across Liverpool and Wirral.

Free sessions will run over five weeks, helping participants to:

  • Boost their skills and confidence
  • Build and improve their CV
  • Gain experience through volunteering and work placements
  • Access one-to-one employment advice

A light lunch with refreshments will be provided, and help is available for those in need of childcare and travel expenses.

David Brown, Director of Operations at Pine Court Housing Association commented: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Steve Biko Housing Association to help the local community get employed.”

He added “With a commitment to the positive promotion of cultural tolerance and cohesion, we hope that these sessions will encourage diversity and inclusion in workplaces across the Liverpool City Region and beyond.”

Who are these sessions for?

The New Horizons project has been designed for the local BAME (black, Asian and minority ethnic) community.
You must be legally able to reside in the UK and be unemployed to be eligible. You must also provide an ID, along with proof of address and any benefits that you receive.
