- Since joining Growth Platform as a partner, London Northwestern Railway (LNR) has seen its visibility and general awareness across the Liverpool City Region increase.
- The company joined as partners back in 2019, not only to benefit its own business but to play a part in the economic drive across the city.
At Growth Platform, the aim is to increase sustainable investment and business growth across the city region. Through partner contributions Growth Platform can put policy into action to deliver services and help create thousands of jobs.
Becoming a partner means not only an opportunity for businesses to get directly involved but also to inform and shape decisions made to benefit the region.
One of Growth Platform’s corporate partners is LNR, the rail operator connecting Liverpool with London and Birmingham, with 500,000 passenger journey’s every week.
Alongside its train services, LNR offers free-to-use business accounts for local SME’s to manage their rail travel in one place, as well as helping companies to minimise travel costs. This unique service – named Just Business – identifies the cheapest fares across all operators, without any booking fees.
Businesses that sign up to the service are given a unique login for each member of staff so they can individually search for, book, and pay for their tickets through the platform. The service also allows companies to set bespoke rules and preferences to determine what tickets employees have permission to book, along with spending caps.
Tim Bullock, sales and partnership manager at London Northwestern Railway, explained: “Becoming a partner at Growth Platform has helped us to grow our presence in Liverpool and increase awareness, particularly in the early launch stage of the brand.
“It has connected us to a key base of SME’s in a key strategic location, and allowed us to support local businesses as they return to rail for meetings, events and conferences.
“During the pandemic it also helped us disseminate key travel advice and guidance in a time of ongoing change.”
Further benefits to becoming a Growth Platform partner include exclusive network opportunities, access to key research across growth sectors, opportunities to share thoughts and ideas, plus profile raising through Growth Platform’s website and social media.
Partner contributions have helped shape, develop, and deliver business support programmes. They also help attract, nurture and support businesses looking to relocate to the city region and through the ‘Careers Hub’ support schools in developing effective careers plans.
