Hugh Baird University Centre launches Maritime and Logistics course

The Hugh Baird University Centre are delighted to announce a new course coming in September 2022.

The one-year ‘Access to Higher Education: Business Management in Maritime and Logistics course’, approved by Open Awards, is designed for 19+ adult students wishing to progress into a career in business / maritime industries or university level study in a related subject.

The introduction of this course will add an important to string to the Hugh Baird University Centre’s bow; complementing their already impressive business faculty. It has been developed in partnership with leading international logistics consultants, Enceladus Consulting, and is set to help students gain a career in the booming maritime and logistics industry that surrounds the Liverpool City Region.

In order to qualify for the course, prospective students will need to be aged 19+ and have GCSEs in both Maths and English at grades 9-4 (old grading system: A*-C) or a relevant Pre-Access qualification.

The course includes the study of 18 units which include, Maritime Trade, Port Services and Operations, Sustainability in Supply Chain Logistics, Technology and Automation in Supply Chain Logistics, Contract Law and Business Finance Planning.

We are looking forward to launching this course at the start of the new term. We have worked hard with employers to make sure that the course content matches industry standards, and that what we teach is relevant to the roles that our students will progress into.
