Growth Platform awarded Workplace Wellbeing Charter accreditation

Growth Platform – Liverpool City Region Growth Company have been recognised for their commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of staff.

The Workplace Wellbeing Charter awarded by Health@Work provides a national accreditation for organisations who are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of their workforce. The Charter is built on a solid framework which ensures businesses have every angle of workplace wellbeing covered.

Covering eight topics ranging from leadership and absence management to physical activity and healthy eating, securing the accreditation not only improves a business’s appeal to prospective employees but it can also have an impact on productivity, through cultivating a happier, healthier workforce.

The accreditation was achieved through personal and organisational assessment of health & safety, company culture, the welfare facilities available to staff, and employees attitude to what Growth Platform offers towards staff wellbeing.

Areas of particular praise were the initiatives and challenges in place for physical activity and healthy eating, the company’s supportive absence policy and mental health workplace model. Leadership, effective communication and flexible working were also singled out for good practice.

Mark Basnett, Managing Director, Growth Platform – Liverpool City Region’s growth company, said: “This demonstrates our organisation’s commitment to proactively championing health and wellbeing processes, policies and interventions within the workplace. We have invested in this process since before the pandemic and it has served the organisation well through some difficult times.

“This is a journey for us and there is always room for improvement towards further excellence and we will continue to develop in that direction in the coming months.”

Marj Murphy, Director of Operations, Health@Work, said: “In light of the current economy, it is now more important than ever to provide staff with not only useful and tangible employee benefits, but also with a healthy and happy work environment. Achieving the Workplace Wellbeing Charter is a great way for Growth Platform to show both their current and potential employees that they are an employer who values their mental and physical wellbeing.

“We are delighted to award Growth Platform with the Workplace Wellbeing Charter and can’t wait to see how their wellbeing initiatives evolve and develop over the coming years.”
