Liverpool City Region based EdenFiftyOne is heading on an EdTech mission to Thailand. Founded by Tom Reynolds and based in Liverpool City Centre, EdenFiftyOne is the EdTech platform that clarifies, monitors, tracks and teaches the 51 universal skills of reading, writing speaking and listening within English language education.
Liverpool City Region (LCR) is home to nearly 7000 digital, creative and tech businesses employing around 18,000 people. EdTech is a key sub-sector – 34% of businesses on our latest Tech Climbers list (a list of the best scaling IP-led tech businesses in the city region) were EdTech businesses. Digital, Creative and Tech businesses are predominantly clustered around the Knowledge Quarter, Baltic Triangle and Sci-Tech Daresbury areas of the city region.
The sector is supported through specialist business support from Gather as well as financial support from the Finance Hub and innovation grants. Investment into an Angel Network, Seed Fund and Tech Accelerator will see these new initiatives coming on stream next year to further support and grow the sector. There are also a number of networks and events to promote peer to peer learning and collaboration between businesses. In October EdenFiftyOne will be representing the Liverpool City Region’s EdTech sector on a global stage as part of the Department for International Trade’s (DIT) Northern Powerhouse mission to Bett Asia – the region’s leading education technology conference and expo, gathering senior education leaders, educators and innovators to share intelligence on how to improve learning in the 21st century.
Speaking about the upcoming mission EdenFiftyOne Founder Tom Reynolds said:
