Tech Climbers returns to Liverpool for the third time, as submissions for 2023 open

Tech Climbers in back in the Liverpool City Region for the third time, after a successful launch in Leeds City Region earlier this year.

Tech Climbers is an annual list which showcases the top performing product-led technology businesses in the region and aims to gather data to put Liverpool City Region on the map as an investable, global tech destination. First launched in 2019, the project has welcomed a range of partners including tech investors, local government, inward investment and academic institutions. The initiative helps to raise the profile of Liverpool’s digital, creative and tech sector, increasing investment in the area, with 80% of firms included in the 2021 Liverpool City Region Tech Climbers looking to raise funding.

Submissions opened for 2023 on the 6th of October, following a launch event at the Brett Building, University of Liverpool, which brought together a stellar line up of investors and business leaders who have themselves raised investment. The event had over 120 registrations from business leaders from across Liverpool City Region and beyond.

Tech Climbers is sponsored by Avison Young, BDO, Brabners and Marks & Clerk, with associate partners, Gather, Growth Platform, InnovateHer, LCR Connect, LYVA Labs, Startup Grind, STFC Digital Cluster, Tech Nation and Zut. University of Liverpool Management School hosted the launch event.

Tech businesses from Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St. Helens, Liverpool and Wirral are invited to submit themselves for the 2023 list online, and for the first time ever, you can now nominate businesses worthy of becoming a Tech Climber.

A judging panel of influential advisors and brands, including executives from Brabners, Marks and Clerk, Avison Young, BDO, and Tech Nation will create the final list of successful businesses who have demonstrated significant operations in the Liverpool City Region and evidence their impact, innovation and investment potential. Previously celebrated businesses included Parentapps, a school communication service, and fintech company CIRCA5000 – an investment platform.

There is also a ones-to-watch list of up-and-coming businesses that are active in the region and look set for a bright future.

Anna Heyes, CEO at Active Profile and Tech Climbers founder says:
