North West based firm Walker Engineering has announced a record turnover of £3.9m in 2021 – 73% up from the previous year’s figure of £2.2m.
Walker Engineering delivers mechanical and electrical fabrication, installation and maintenance across the UK. The firm has also recorded pre-tax profits of £403,852, representing an 81% increase on the previous year’s (£222,174).
Its growth has been in no small part due to the work and expertise of its expanding team, which has grown by 36% over the last 12 months, from 19 to 26.
The award-winning family-led firm, which is based in Skelmersdale, has worked on a number of high-profile jobs throughout the last financial year, including the installation of a blend tank facility in Widnes (£600,000) and the structural steelwork supply for a property site in Formby worth £240,000.
The business, which is owned and operated by husband and wife team Andy (managing director) and Sarah Walker (director of operations), works on projects across a range of sectors including chemical and food industries. Walker Engineering has also been involved in four large structural steelwork projects in the North West, showcasing its expertise in fabrication and pipework.
Andy Walker, managing director, Walker Engineering, said:
“These figures would not have been possible without the dedication, skill and perseverance of our talented workforce. We pride ourselves on being a family-led business with real family
values at its heart. Our team listens to our customers and goes the extra mile to simplify and manage processes for them. I think this is what sets us apart from our rivals and which has contributed to our growth.
“From what started out as a one-man band operation to the growing firm we see today, it is a very encouraging start to our 20th anniversary in 2023.”
Walker Engineering is fully accredited, holding ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. All structural steelwork supplied by the firm is also fully compliant with CE marking to BS: EN 1090-1 Execution Class 2, in order to meet legislation applied in July 2014.
