We’ve all got our favourite places across Liverpool City Region, those bars, cafes or attractions that are our great ‘go-to’s and we want to tell everyone about them … even though we’re tempted to keep them secret and all to ourselves!
Well, it’s time to share the love and the joy.
Over the last few weeks hundreds of people have been voting for their favourite ‘Hidden Gem’ as part of the Liverpool City Region’s Tourism Awards.
Lots of places were nominated including tours, restaurants or natural beauty spots, highlighted as much-loved assets that are not so well-known just because they’re off the main tourist trail.
And today we can reveal the 10 businesses that have made it through to the final. They are:
- Cranberry’s Café Southport, Southport
- Future Yard, Birkenhead
- Home Farm Restaurant Speke Hall, Liverpool
- Red Brick Market, Liverpool
- Silcocks Carousel, Southport
- Southport Bijou Cinema, Southport
- Ten Streets Social, Liverpool
- The Welsford Bistro, Liverpool
- The Wheelbarrow, Liverpool
- Tik Taco, Southport
Now it’s time for you to decide which one should be overall winner.
Jay Hynd, Managing Director of The Guide Liverpool, said:
“Last year we saw a huge number of votes for the Hidden Gem category come via The Guide Liverpool so we are delighted to once again be supporting this award through our platforms and putting the shortlist to a public vote.
“All 10 nominees are fantastic businesses that support tourism in the city region, but if you think there’s one that really doesn’t get anywhere near the recognition it deserves then it’s time to let us know by casting your vote… and maybe that business will follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner, The Watering Can.”
It’s one vote per person, but we’d love to ask as many people to vote as possible. You can cast your vote here.
Voting will close at 5pm on Friday, January 27 2023. And the winner will be announced at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards, being held at The Liverpool Cathedral on Thursday, March 2.
