Get ready to plan an unforgettable Eurovision experience in Liverpool

A brand-new app and visitor guide is being launched to inspire visitors to plan an unforgettable Eurovision experience in Liverpool.

With one week to go before the Eurovision celebrations begin, Eurovision fans and visitors from around the world can start planning their itineraries with the help of the VisitLiverpool App and Visitor Guide.

Produced by Marketing Liverpool in collaboration with Liverpool ONE, the app inspires visitors with everything they need to have the best Eurovision experience in Liverpool.

It features the essential information and inspiration – including EuroFestival and Eurovision Village, as well as all the Eurovision themed events taking place across the city from 1-15 May.

Information on tourist attractions, food and drink venues and integrated Google Maps for all travel options offer extra support to visitors exploring the city region during the two-week period.

The app will also allow notifications to be sent to users with important updates about events and travel information, as well as providing frequently asked questions from the host city.

Visitors will be able to pick up a free Visitor Guide from tourist information centres and cultural venues across the region. Produced by Marketing Liverpool in collaboration with local company Wordscape, the guide is the go-to handbook for everything happening across the city region during the contest.

With recommendations for places to eat and drink, what’s on guide and shopping ideas, travel information and details of the commissions transforming the city as part of EuroFestival, visitors will be able to easily plan their Eurovision itineraries.

With Ukraine at the heart of Liverpool’s host city plans, the front cover of the guide has been beautifully designed by Ukrainian artist Akelina. Symbolising support and equality, Akelina’s design brings together Liverpool and Ukraine as we become united by music.

Both the VisitLiverpool App and digital version of the Visitor Guide are available to download and view now.

Donna Howitt, Place Strategy Director at Liverpool ONE, said:

“There’s an amazing buzz ahead of Eurovision and you can’t help but get involved in the excitement. Having realised the benefits of the Liverpool ONE app in giving our visitors easy access to news and information, it has been the perfect opportunity to work with the city to ensure visitors to the city over Eurovision have the same opportunity.”

“That’s why we have partnered to create a brand-new app in the app store which is the go-to place to find information about what you can enjoy across the region in the coming weeks. This app will give access to what’s going on and when it’s happening, giving both locals and visitors the opportunity to plan their Eurovision experience right across the city.”

Bill Addy, CEO of Liverpool BID Company said:

“At Liverpool BID Company we have put our support behind the Eurovision bid because we know that major cultural events have a positive impact on the wider city centre economy. One of the key elements to that is to ensure everyone knows what is happening.”

“We are delighted that people will be able to see the variety of events that have been curated and programmed by businesses throughout the city. There is a palpable excitement in the air and a determination from without our city centre businesses to give the warmest of welcomes to the visitors coming”

Susan Finnegan, Commercial Director and Head Eurovision 2023 Host City Visitor Experience for Culture Liverpool said:

“Awareness and communication are absolutely critical to the visitor experience, so we are delighted to work in collaboration with Liverpool ONE on the new VisitLiverpool app.”

“From the moment visitors arrive, to the moment they leave, the Liverpool experience must be second to none. Our entire city region has come together to deliver a programme of scale, profile and ambition – a spectacular show with the eyes of the world upon Liverpool once again. In partnership, we will ensure that the whole nation – and beyond – will be left saying ‘Where were you for Eurovision Liverpool 2023?’”
