Accountancy and business advisory firm, Langtons, has bolstered its Liverpool-based senior tax team with the appointment of a new Tax Director.
Michael Court joins Langtons from MHA Moore & Smalley. The appointment comes as Langtons continue to grow following a successful year of new client wins and high-profile transactions.
A member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Michael brings with him over 15 years’ experience and significant expertise in advising entrepreneurs on both a personal and business level.
Andy McCall, Managing Partner, Langtons, said:
“The tax landscape continues to be challenging for UK businesses. With economic uncertainty, upcoming election, the lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic – along increased tax authority funding and scrutiny, ESG risks, compliance with new customs and trade rules – we have seen an increase in demand for high-quality tax advice from businesses across the Liverpool City Region, the North West and beyond.
Michael’s experience and specialism in taxation in advising entrepreneurs on matters such as company sales, corporate reorganisations, as well as family wealth and inheritance tax planning will further strengthen the service and support we provide to our business and personal tax clients.”
Commenting on his appointment, Michael Court said:
“I am delighted to join Langtons. The firm has clear growth ambitions and a client-centred way of doing things that aligns with my own approach to supporting clients.
My approach is all about spending time with my clients to understand their business priorities and family wealth objectives, and then providing them with pragmatic and commercial tax advice that helps them achieve their goals.”
