Liverpool City Council is rolling out a series of free workshops this summer, aimed at supporting budding entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses. With demand for start-up guidance at an all-time high, the initiative promises expert advice in key areas such as legal compliance, financial planning, marketing, and business strategy.
During April, the Council saw an influx of residents seeking business support for ideas spanning food & drink, activewear, advertising, beauty, sustainable fashion, manufacturing, and training. In response, the Business and Economic Support team is providing free, tailored sessions to help local businesses get off the ground and grow.
The first sessions, scheduled for June, are now open for booking:
Workshop Dates:
- Thursday, 5 June – Start-Up Support: A Legal Checklist (10am-11am)
- Tuesday, 10 June – Start-Up Support: Financial Planning (10am-12pm)
- Tuesday, 17 June – Start-Up Support: Developing a Simple Marketing Strategy (10am-12pm)
- Tuesday, 24 June – Start-Up Support: Introduction to Business Planning and Market Research (10am-12pm)
The initiative is part of Liverpool City Council’s Business Support Service, funded by the UK Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund, with oversight from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. The programme is managed by the Council’s Business and Economic Support team, with delivery support from expert partners.
Aspiring business owners are encouraged to book their places early, as more sessions and engagement events in neighbourhoods across Liverpool will be announced soon.
