10-strong cohort secures £300k boost from Baltic Ventures

Baltic Ventures, the Liverpool-headquartered accelerator and angel syndicate, has grown its investment portfolio to 30 tech startups after investing £300,000 into a new cohort of companies.

Backed by a £4.1m grant from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Baltic Ventures has today unveiled its Accelerator 2025 cohort, which includes digital tech startups spanning sectors like proptech, healthtech, e-commerce, edtech, fintech and climate tech.

Now in its third year of operation, this is Baltic Ventures’ third annual accelerator programme, having successfully supported more than 50 founding teams in previous Accelerator and Launchpad programmes and hundreds of additional founders through other events and initiatives.

The in-person programme will take place in Liverpool and will involve impactful Masterclass sessions, one-to-one personalised coaching support, investment readiness training and much more.

Cllr Liam Robinson, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Cabinet Member for Innovation, said:

“Innovation is at the heart of our plans for growth in the city region and Baltic Ventures and initiatives like this are vital elements in making those plans a reality.

“Through this accelerator Baltic Ventures is helping our city region become a launchpad for some of the most exciting tech talent in the UK. I’m sure the support that these exciting companies will receive will enable them to thrive, boosting our local economy and creating high-quality jobs.”

Mo Aldalou, Programme Director at Baltic Ventures, said:

“This year’s application, recruitment and selection process was our most competitive yet and we were particularly impressed with the calibre of businesses from Liverpool City Region, which demonstrates the impact that we’ve made since 2023.

“I couldn’t be more excited to welcome our new cohort of 10 ambitious founding teams to our annual programme, where they will receive the support, tools and connections they need to propel them into their next stage of growth.”

Claire Lewis, CEO of Baltic Ventures, says:

“We’re excited to unveil this year’s Baltic Ventures Accelerator cohort, who were selected from an outstanding pool of applicants. These teams share a belief that business can and should be a powerful force for good.

“Through the Accelerator, we’re proud to champion their journeys, equipping them with the tools, network, and investment they need to accelerate their impact and scale with confidence.”
